Friends are awesome
« on: June 01, 2011, 07:56:00 PM »
A few months ago I asked if anybody knew if Bear ever made cufflinks. Upon hearing that I was a cufflink wearer Bearkeeper (Mike Shaw) said he had a special pair of cufflinks he would give to me at BBTC. I was convinced that these cufflinks would involve some "minty" deer droppings. I tuely hoped that Mike would just forget about it.
Well, the first day of BBTC Mike tells me has has something very special for me. "O crap, here we go" I think to myself.

He hands me a box that looks like this.

I open the box very timidly expecting something to jump out of it. I see this.

I am blown away. My very own pair of Bear cufflinks. True friends are awesome.

I was going to post these pics awhile ago, but I wanted a picture of me wearing them. Today is actually the first day since BBTC that I had to wear a suit to work so its the first time I had a chance to take a picture.

Thanks Mike. They immediately became my very favorite set of cufflinks that I own. I appreciate ya bud.

Wow! Seeing those things ALMOST makes me regret giving away several dozen ties and formal attire when I retired in 2007! That is a very thoughtful friend.

Now by golly I barely care if my socks match. (My wife will report I didn't much care even before I retired.)

My wife kept one tie.  Hmmm? I wonder what she has planned for that thing? I'm thinking I have too much life insurance?
