1) Howatt Hunters like a high nock point- like 3/4 inch high. They are designed to work well this way.

2) On the shelf rug, you want a slight hump just above and in line with the narrowest part of the grip. A small matchstick will work or a spongy something of similar dimension.

So on my bow square I should put the knock 3/4 above center? Or 3/4 above normal?  I'm looking into this yarn thing also

My Silvertip is quite. As said above tune your arrows and I put some mole skins type material on the ends of the limbs.

Like Rob said if you want to find the best of both worlds find a aggressive R/D longbow. I'm on the prowl for one myself.

Aaron, I've been making strings for myself and friends for over 14 years now and just recently tried the yarn wrap at the yoke or "Y" area down about 4 to 6 " and can't believe how much quieter it made my bow...You will be amazed and it looks good as well...If I lived close to ya I would do it for nothing cause it only takes a few minutes...Keefer's <><
