AD trades or trad lites
«

Can I shoot AD Trads from a 53 lb @ 28" bow? I have some trad kites that don't fly well at all. I've tried everything I can think of to make them work, but they are all over the place. I have some AD Trads, that I haven't fletched, but don't want to waste my time if they don't work.

Not sure what BOP is. It will be slightly short. I usually shoot mine at 29.5"

I shoot AD Trad Lites cut 29.5" back of point(BOP) out of 43# - 53# bows with good flight. I pull 29". Just change your point if necessary.

The last batch of trad lites I had wouldn't fly no matter what I did. I used the aluminum inserts with 125 gr heads all the way up to 220 gr. I also used the short and long heavy inserts with the 125-220 gr heads and got the same flight.

Interesting. Wonder if it's possible to get a bad batch of them? I've been shooting the same batch for 6 years now. Only busted the nock end of one to beyond reuse. But, the other 11 are still going strong. Hope you get it figured out and would like to know what ends up working for you if you don't mind. Good luck.

I shoot 29" TDs out of my 54 to 55 lb bows. 175 grain head, total weight around 550 grains.

Irish, that's the same weight head I'll be using. Do you have the aluminum inserts in them or brass?

Wannabe1, I was told at one time there was an occasional bad batch. I'll have to see if I can find them and see if anyone wants to try them.

I will be shooting the new Woodsman Elite screw in heads this fall. They are all steel. I use the Al inserts in the nock end, with a glue on nock.

That's my plan. I'll be using a 7" wrap with 4-fletch

I shoot AD Trads. 58# @31" but I draw 31.5 so I don't cut them down. I don't have wraps on them as my buddy cap dipped and crested them. 4" shield cuts.
They shoot fine. In fact they shoot pretty darn good.
I also have some lites. They will shoot well enough at full length but if your release isn't up to par they will be a little wild as they are spined too light at full length.
