feather burner

I've searched the resources looking for a 'how to' build my own feather burner I'm not having much luck could someone direct me.  Thanks

I tried making feather burners using model train transformers and a 6-volt battery charger with ni-chrome piano wire and did not have much luck.  Bought a used Young's Feather burner here on Trad Gang and it will not get a ni-chrome ribbon hot enough.  May be bad unit.  Bought a Lil Chopper from 3Rivers and am very happy with it.  Good Luck!

but seriously, unless you have access to the right stuff, buying a used young is THE way to go.  i liked one so much i bought another.  :)

I've found that folks that try to build stuff like this at home, had better have the Fire Dept. on speed dial.  I'm not saying it shouldn't be done....just know what you're doing!
