I'm currently conducting tryouts for the upcoming season.  Right now it's looking like a 62" Robertson Vision Falcon, 57# @ 29 is in line for the starting spot.  Others in contention or that could see action through the season are (in no particular order)
62" Fox High Sierra T/D recurve
64" McCullough Griffin 2 pc. TD longbow 62" Morrison Cougar 2 piece TD
58" Centaur 1 piece longbow
There are others, but these are the best shooters for me.  Mostly use carbon arrows with Wensel Woodsmans, although the Morrison has a fondness for woodies.

62" Blacktail TD Elite VL recurve 55#@28"
   (Bolivian rosewood, footed with Bubinga)
GT carbons 5575s 29", w/ 160gr Simmons w/ 50gr. screw-in inserts.
75-80# Hildebrand spruce arrows w/ 160gr fieldtips or 160gr. Stos.
Easton Legacy 2117, about the same weighting.
I have been trying these 3 types of arrows. I will be sticking with the carbons and wood. I love making and shooting wood. The carbons are very accurate and fast.
The wood arrows come in at 580gr. The carbons are 520gr.
Isaiah 49:2...he made me a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

Robertson Vision Falcon I T/D recurve, 60", 52#@28", wood arrows (either 50-55 Cedar or 50-55 Larch), Eclipse 125 gr 2-blade, Skookum glove

Crow Creek Black Feather T/D longbow, 62", 51#@28", same setup as for the Robertson recurve.

I will also be figuring into the mix a new Border Harrier GL longbow that I'll be receiving in the August/September timeframe.  The bow will be 62" and 48-50#@28".  I'll have to figure out what wood arrows I'll be shooting with this bow.  Sid told be it would require a spine in the 70-75# range, maybe a bit higher.

Bill

PS I think it's probably pretty close between Shawn and I as to which one has bought, sold and traded the most bows.  But I do know neither one of us holds a candle to Bob Ferrel!

If asked if I have a favorite my answer would be yes, and here they are. I thoroughly enjoy shooting each and every one of them. Each is a tribute to it's maker in both esthetics and performance and have far more potential than this guy's shooting ability is able to accomplish. The pursuit, however, brings hours of continued pleasure. It has taken me about four or five years to bring this lot together. The pursuit of each has been fun and interesting. There are yet a few I would like to add to their number, but at a future date.

From left to right:
Border, Silvertip, Blacktail, BlackWidow, Border, Blacktail

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

Zipper 60" 52@30 (Mountain Muffler string)
Border Black Douglas 60" 50@28 (Mountain Muffler string)
Gold Tip Traditionals 3555 (125gr point/100gr inserts) 4 inch shield-cut fletchings
Carbon Express Predators 2000 (same on points) 4 inch parabolic
Neet glove (like it because the leather is thinner, I can feel more of the string)

I don't hunt yet so I just enjoy target shooting. I'm trying to make sure I have my accuracy and form down so eventually, I will be ready to hunt. I won't take the chance of hurting the hunted and not being able to kill it. That's just cruel. But, when I do... I'll probably use Muzzy 2-blades.
We should have shotguns for this kind of deal.

Pittsley Predator, 63 @ 28.
Gold Tips, 55-75. Weighted to around 600 grains with a broadhead. I hunt with big wide two edge heads. Usually a Zwickey Delta.
Delta 7 arrow quiver. When practicing, I use a calf hair tab. When hunting, bare fingers.
It is far from some of the works of art seen on this site, but its far from ugly too.
Many happy trails with this set up.
