Well, I got home and opened the box that was waiting for me on the counter. Bolted it together, strung it up grabbed a dozen arrows and headed out.
Here is a picture of the first dozen shots taken at 15 yards.
So I stepped back to 25 yards and let 3 of them fly.
I now need to start with some full length shafts, and get them tuned to make a ton more arrows for this new set of limbs. If someone would be so kind to plug my numbers into Stu's calculator for me, I would be very appreciative. I need to find what length my shafts shoud be.
My #'s are as follows. 46# @ 28" RER LXR (longbow limbs), drawn to 28". tipped with 125 heads, and fletched with 3-5 3/8" banana feathers. I'm using 60-65# shafts, and will continue to use them, I just need to find out what length to cut them to get me close instead of doing 1/4" cuts from 32" shafts.
This is some of the prettiest veneer wood I have seen. The colors flow so well into the riser that has bloodwood and bacote. The chocolate leather grip is just icing on the cake.
After putting 2 dozen thru this bow, I put it up so as not to reinjure my shoulder. I just couldn't resist the temptation to shoot "The Gnat Assassin". She was calling to me, and putting the word out there to all the critters to stay the heck from in front of her, for she is very deadly.
