NEW 2 BLADE HEAD in the Works!
« on: June 14, 2011, 07:06:00 PM »
I just had my first good look at a prototype VPA 2 blade head that's under development and I LIKE what I see!  Looks bone busting TOUGH, SOLID, and I hear that they fly great.  I'll say more whenever I get one in my hands;^)

I hope they don't want to call it the Bear Legacy!  :bigsmyl:  VPA makes good broadheads, wish they/someone would have them at Compton's to look at!

The one I saw at Cloverdale was a double bevel and I believe 200 grains.

Some of the specifics are still being looked at. There will be a variety of weights, including heavy versions. I'll promise to get back as soon as I know more.  Stay tuned . . .

I know you are getting a lot of questions, but here is another...  How wide are they?

Let's hope they're all legal in all 50 states and Canada, unlike the three blade.

Where are 3 blades illegal?
What makes them illegal there? just plain "no 3 blade" law?

Thanks

All of the currently produced non-vented Terminators I've measured surpass the min. broadhead width regs.  Todd, are you refering to the vented Woodsman "Elites"??  I know that they run narrower.

As promised, here's the first prototype images I've received from the guys at VPA.  That 250 grain head's blade thickness is a whopping bone splitting .067". I can't wait to give that one a try. What a beast. I hear that they fly extremely well.

All heads are 1 1/8" wide.  The ones in the picture haven't been painted or coated but will be black(carbon steel, easy sharpening).  The first heads should be available in limited runs in early July.  VPA will be shipping the first run unpackaged as to not delay the release.

A lot of guys prefer the 3 blades, but for those who want a head built as tough as the Terminators in a 2 blade option these should help fit the bill.

I'll post more info as I receive it plus any sharpening and shooting results I gather once I get the heads. Hope this answers most of your questions for now.
