Burlap is a natural smell. It will help mask your scent and not affect game. I have a ghillie suit with burlap and deer walk right up to me.

I thought the same thing. when i ordered my ghillie suit from rancho sarfari. I called him up and said i was going to return the suit because of the smell of the burlap. He said give it a try and if you dont like it i will refund your money. I shot my first tradtional buck from 5 yards away.
