In a time when our media is flooded with a less than pure portrayal of our passion a peice of art like this reminds us that all is not lost.  Hats off not only to the guy who made that inspiring video, but also to the older members here who've keep the spirit and tradition alive because somewhere, sometime, someone introduced him to a traditional bow.

Thanks so much for sharing that video Bryce.

Ditto what everyone else is saying.  I really enjoyed that.  You can see more short videos at Vimeo - Dusty Images.

If your interested in hearing more of his music, search his album: “The Secrets of Marindahl”

I am curious of the camera also and the smooth paning they did with what appears to be a horizontal rod attached to the camera.

He was shooting with the Canon 7D at the end there, it looks like alot of that video was shot with that camera too . . . the same camera was used in hollywood movies such as Avatar . . .

I did also see an ENG camcorder in that one scene, I'm sure it was used occasionally, but the only way to get that DOF is with either the DSLR or a camcorder with a 35mm film adapter:)

That video was way more enjoyable than the so call pro staff jug heads on TV who just want to run off at the head and brag about themselfs. Well done.

The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Very cool.

Great photography. Some humor. Patient story line. The slow mo sky was excellent. Really nailed it.

And 2x on the request for the music. Who is that? And where can I find the lyrics?

I'm so glad you all felt the way I did upon viewing this (I KNEW you would!).

My favorite part was when the hunter (wearing a mask) turns to face the videographer, and cracks a smile that you can barely see, but you can see the face mask move and it can't conceal that he's grinning...I absolutely LOVED that moment.  Awesome.

BTW, the guy filming over his shoulder was a high school senior(!) and accomplished bowhunter (Kyle Metzger) from northeast Nebraska.  He'd commented this spring that he wanted to try a recurve, I'm guessing partially from participating in this video.  For his high school graduation present, a handful of us older guys in the Nebraska Outdoor Forum (led by Tom Pleiss) chipped in and bought him a recurve.
