New Arm Guard
« on: June 15, 2011, 06:10:00 PM »
Decided I needed an Arm Guard after series of odd bruises and cherries developed on my forearm      :biglaugh:

So here are a couple pics of one I through together this afternoon...

I'd love to take one of those critters one day with a bow but haven't found out where they are hiding.

(sorry about the previously too large pic)

GREAT artwork, Lee!
That's really an outstanding job.

It was traced in with a modeling tool and then worked again as it dried...painted the Megaloceros with black Tandy leather dye then added the darker mottling brown to mimic the caves of Lascaus in France and then dabbed the whole piece with a mix of yellow/tan leather dye.

Thanks for the kind words Guy...hope things are well with you.

It's going well, Lee. Thanks. How's that young drummer of yours doing?

I figured you were basing the art on Lascaux. You did an outstanding job of it. I especially like the boldness of the animal and the cave wall mottling.
Aw, heck... I like the whole thing!

It's something special when someone can "throw" together an arm guard on an afternoon. That would be a two month project for me I bet   :biglaugh:  Very nice Lee, it looks great !

Very cool! I made one very similar the other day but I haven't got the leather tooling part down yet......you get bonus points for cool art work.
