Sometimes bows can be tricky to measure especially if the surface is curves, I measured my Zipper..... it will be interesting to see what Bob responds.

Just a word of caution re: Stu's calculator numbers.  Just because a bow is cut 3/16 beyond center does NOT mean you enter -3/16 into the calculator!  The calculator wants to know how far the ARROW is from center, which needs to include the thickness of the arrow plate too.  Typically a -3/16 cut bow has a 1/16 plate which equals -1/8 for the calculator.  I can't tell you how often I've seen plate thickness not considered when people complain the calculator does't work for them.

Dan you got that one right.

If you select a bow from the database you have to enter the plate thickness in the box below. where it says.

"For specific bow models, enter strike plate thickness  _
 (X.XX or fractional equivalent)         ."

Talked with Bill of Zipper bows at Cloverdale. His extreme risers are 3/16 past center. And I beleive all others are either the same or 1/8th.

Thanks Stu and Les! When I ordered a Whip from Dan Toelke he said it was cut to center. I'll try and verify the Bob Lee bows too.

Dave will send a better spread sheet to you later.
I am breaking down the info into

bow type
center cut fraction
center cut decimal.

You and Stu should have it later this afternoon.

1991 Sky Sky Hawk = 1/8" past center.
2009 Zona T/D Recurve = center.

I've always measured the center by finding my center of the limbs, mark that spot then along with stringing the bow I also tape some B50 to those marks then measure the shelf.

Worked for me for may years.
Zona Custom Recurve: 60" 49# @ 27.5".
Sky Sky Hawk Recurve: 60" 47# @ 27.5".
Genesis 27:3 Now therefore, please take thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and hunt game for me.
