Anyone shoot Robertson Raven Styk at Compton?
« on: June 18, 2011, 04:39:00 PM »
Just wondering if anyone that attended Compton...or anyone else for that matter...has shot the new 3 pc Robertson Raven Styk hybrid???

I'd like some feedback but haven't been able to find any comments anywhere yet.  I may demo one if I see one in my specs but would like to hear something about them first.  I have owned a couple Robertson recurves and they are all top notch!

I posted a few weeks ago about the Raven Styk.  No responses.  I have a set of limbs on order that Dick said I will have in time for Denton Hill.

Shot one today. Nice bow. Great fit and finish. Smooth draw, decent speed. Grip seemed smaller than most but was comfortable. I felt a little buzz at the shot but my arrows, which shoot fine out of my 48-50# bows may have been a little light for the 52# I shot.

I test drove one and can say it was an awesome bow. They are very nice looking, quiet and put an arrow right where you are looking. With the Robertson try before you buy program you just can't go wrong! Also, the Robertson's are quality people who are great to work with.
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

At the Compton Rendevous they advertised a payment plan option also.

Can't wait to get my limbs.  I ordered 60" all bamboo limbs for my SRV.  They will have horn tips with some nice limb overlays.

Guys, thanks for all the comments.  I have been traveling for awhile and haven't been able to check in.

Keith - I hope you report back and put up some pics when your limbs arrive.

I look forward to hearing some more about these bows and maybe trying one out.  There aren't too many in stock yet though.
