Another great year in Quebec! A special thanks is in order for Tom and Bowdoc.  You always make Bear Quest an incredible trip and my favorite time of year.

Here are a few pics of a bear that made an appearance on the Long Trail.

Fortunately, these two weren't the only ones on the Long Trail at the time.

Hey, Jay...did you draw that stand (The Long Trail) or pick it? I remember you had that stand during BQ3.

Bowdoc is advising Barry that you should only have one armpit exposed while in the stand....

Tom,
I drew the Long Trail, but it was on my second draw.  I pulled the Cradiac first.  Realizing I really would have a cradiac climbing that hill,  since I was the last in camp to draw I dropped it back in the hat and tried again. I pulled the Long Trail on the second try.  The flat ground of the Long Trail is much more accomodating to someone  short for their weight.   :)

This was actually the third year I've sat the Long Trail.

Jay,
That picture of Barry & I with the Small Bag of donuts is because Tom asked us to re-bait the Cardiac on our way out.  Way out isn't an exaggeration for two guys on Medicare  :scared:

I missed going on this years BQ and i have really suffered reading all you guys post. I really fell in love with Canada last year and wouldent have a problem picking up and vanishing there for a couple of years. It was a real spirtiual place that just seem to touch that special nerve in me. I've already made arrangements to attend BQ 2012 and can't wait. I'm looking forward to talking to everybody that I met last year and to making new friends. Great fellowship, great hunting, and a serious props to Tom and his crew because with out there hard work BQ would only be a dream, Thanks guys and I can't wait to see you guys next year.

I recollect Cardiac was renamed after a couple of old guys were close to that condition when we set up the bait.

Saw a couple of nice bears at longdraw last year Jay.

And now for the rest of your story........

Thanks to all that have posted in the first 24 pages (and those who post after)for the great chronicle of BQ 5. Having been there for three of the five  you have captured the essence of what BQ is. An experience unique unto itself.
