I heard your wife say you were out on the course.  We spent a lot of time out there, but never spotted your group.  I don't know how we could have missed you.   :D

I got some pic's of the coon tree also, but my phone camera doesn't have that much zoom and I didn't want to bother them getting too close. Unfortunately that was the only round I shot all weekend when the kids were not with me so  they missed seeing them.

They sure due an outstanding job with the kids at Compton.  My kids are still talking about it, and I noticed they both have their Compton shirts on again today.

Thanks........everyone !!!! It was an opportunity to make some memories that nothing, including time can erase from those kids hearts and minds........nor mine.

xtrema312,

After the kids activities on Saturday morning, Jordan wanted to shoot the Green course and we promptly headed that direction. It was only he and I shooting together, we weren't in a group. After we returned to the main pavilion my wife reminded me that I had missed the trad-gang get to gether. To be honest......I wouldn't have traded the time that I spent with my grandson for the world.

Yes........they most certainly do an excellent job for the kids at Compton. They are both ready to go back next year........and Lord willing, we will be there again.

Don, i remember your grandkids, my little girl played with Aralyn, she kept talking about her "new friend". She talked about her most of the way home Sunday. When I saw your post I had her come look at the picture of your granddaughter and asked her if she knew who that was, she got all excited telling me that was her "friend she met at the Michigans" lol

Shes standing next to your granddaughter in the group picture from the peewee shoot.
Great pics and thanks for sharing.

That is great i am looking forward to getting some similar memories in a few years with my son.

What are they using for bows? I am always trying to figure out what are good kids bows.

marshiper27,

The bows that they were shooting in the pictures are a MadDog Pup recurve made by Mike in Idaho (he is a sponsor here) and the longbow that our grandaughter is shooting (the most of the time) is an Owl longbow, made by Ed Scott from New Mexico.

I would highly recommend either of these bowyers for a childs bow. Mike also makes a longbow that is very nice. You can't go wrong with either of these bowyers.

Great stories and photos!  Being in California, it is hard to think about ever making one of these shoots, so it is fun to enjoy this year's vicariously through your post.  Great way to expose the next generation (or two)!

Thanks again for posting!!    :clapper:    :clapper:

Hope to save my pennies and go to Compton's next year. Maybe I can convince my son who has 4.9 kids right now to go with. That looks like fun for my grand kids, ages 10 on down.
