Stu's Calculator & Shrew Classic Hunter
« on: June 20, 2011, 08:41:00 PM »
Can anyone tell me the parameters to use in Stu's Dynamic Spine Calculator for a 56" Shrew Classic Hunter?

Specifically, what is the strike plate position?  What should I use for the string material?  I know it's a combination of 450+ and B50.

Also, should I use the "Generic Deflex/Reflex Longbow" type?

Thanks,
Gene

Gregg cuts the shelves so they are +1/8" from center with the rest material on. I think Gregg will cut the shelf to whatever the customer wants though so if this is a previously owned bow you may want to e-mail Gregg with the serial # so he can tell you for sure...... or you can measure it yourself.

I use the deflex/reflex longbow setting, 1/8"from center, and 8 strand fast flight settings for my 54" Classic Hunter. Stu's calc was spot on for me.

prior to 2011 the shrew bows were cut to -1/8 according to Ron. Who I spoke to yesterday. Currently the bows are cut to center 0.  Use the -1/8 plus the thickness of your plate material.

I would count the number of strands in the string and use the actual number.

Gene,

Use +1/16" in the calculator.

Yep!  "Straight  from  the horse's mouth" (Gregg) and "straight  to  the horse's  other end " (me)!   :knothead:

Thanks so much for the info!
