Another Act of Kindness!
« on: June 22, 2011, 01:16:00 AM »
I received a note tonight from one of the folks that bid on one of my belts/w buckle and won.  After I read his pm, I was blown away.  I am always amazed at the kindness and thoughtfulness that exists on this site.  This isn't about me -- it is about CoilSpring.  He's the MAN!

Here is the pm:

I was honored to be the winning bidder on the TradGang Belt/buckle #5 and wanted
to follow up with you about it.  Even though I'd really like to wear it proudly,
I feel like there is one more deserving to wear it.

I noticed that "Maineac" Michael Stenstrom, a science teacher from Maine was
bidding every time on each belt/buckle as they came up.  I also noticed he
donated one of his handmade knives to the auction for the kids, so I felt he
should be the one to get the Trad Gang belt/buckle because of his contribution,
not only to the kids for St. Judes, but for being that mentor/teacher to those kids he
teaches every year - teaching is a sacrifice of one's self for the betterment of
others.  Michael neither knows me nor I him, and I feel he is more deserving of it than
me.  That is how I feel.  If you are willing, I was hoping with your
assistance, we could send that belt to him instead of me.

Needless to say, I am going to send the winning bidder (CoilSpring) the belt, and make another for Michael!

I am blown away.  The folks on this site are an amazing group of people.  I am honored by The generosity of Tim.  Thank you so much!

I am so very proud and humbled at the same time just to see the "leadership by example" set by so many tradgang members.

Anyone can see that it starts at the top but it sure as heck doesn't end there by any stretch of the imagination.

I can't say it or read it often enough.....

The tradgang family is just the best..!!!!!!

How stinking cool is this?...Way!!...I'm saying..

Thank you all!!

God bless us all!

Congratulations Maineac. We have never met one another, but maybe we should. I also live in Maine and I am also a school teacher. I see you're in Waldoboro, I live just East of Farmington.

GREAT folks on this site!

That is simply inspiring. I have to give another shout out to CoilSpring. I posted a question last week to the Gang and got some great input. But Tim reached out and offered his time via phone call, on Fathers Day none the less! He helped me understand the mechanics of why we do some of the things we do as archers.

Just another testament to how awesome this site and its members are.

That's funny you should bring this up Larry, I was about to post on this very subject.
Coilspring and I got into a friendly bidding war over a pair of made to order Oliverstacy bowstrings that Josh had donated.
During the bidding Coilspring pm'ed me to ask if I really needed 2 stings.  He said he really needed only one and I told him that was all I  needed at this time too.    As it was, Coilspring won the auction for the pair of strings.
This morning I  get an e-mail from him informing me that despite winning the auction he is giving me one of the strings and to contact Josh with the specs on the string that I need.
This site and the members here continue to amaze me.  The generosity and trust found here is so refreshing in this day and age.  Thans again Tim.

Kindness restoreth the soul...mine especially. Gets me everytime. Thanks Larry for all you've done even in your time of trial. Coilspring, you & Michael are a cut above. Good on you other generous folks too. Glad myself to be part of the TG Brotherhood.
