New Tent for Bowhunting!
« on: June 28, 2011, 06:50:00 PM »
I sold two other tents to fund this one. Just came in today after a good wait while it was being made. It is called a Miners tent and took me a whopping 3 min. to setup! 8.6 X 8.6 X 8. It is treated Marine grade canvas and I had the Sod Cloth added. What do ya think?

Good design and easy to set up. Should be a good tent for hunting.

Nice tent  :)

I thought it was huge until I realized that was a kiddie chair next to it!

It is a good looking tent, but honestly, I think you will get wet.

Mike, it was $327.80 with the Sod Cloth.

John, I wont get wet. It is a Marine grade canvas and this tent is a real favorite among the river runners here in Oregon. We have a lot of wet weather here and I did some research before buying. Got it from a company up in Portland, Oregon that has been making canvas products for sometime now.

I have a Go-Lite "shang-ra-la" that is the same design and has no floor in it.  Two years ago the Nashville area got a "100 year" flood with winds in excess of 55mph.  The storm lasted all night and I was in my teepee tent at at shoot.  I not only stayed dry, but slept great!

Teepee design tents are absolutely awesome and are MUCH more stable than you'd think in a bad storm.  Since I got my go-lite I've sold my other main tent, a sierra design alpha 3/4 season if that tells you anything.  I think your gonna love it!

Nice tent!   Basically similar to the pyramid tent or Cowboy Tepee I had a couple of year ago.  Used it at a bunch of shoots.  I set it up with to outside poles, none inside.  Made the poles jointed with pvc and it worked slick.  Here's some pix, including one with a fly attached to the peak of the poles:

You might want to give that a try.

Great tents Capt. This tent can be set up with poles on the outside also or hung from an overhead limb.

The site says 20lbs but, I tossed the whole tent and bag up and down and it didn't feel like no 20lbs to me.

But, then again, I had spinach for dinner last night so, what do I know?      :D

Nice looking tent. Dig a ditch around it so the water doesn't run through the floor and let er rain.

Nice tent wannabe that quick set up is great!  I have the same tent as Ethan same one pole set up as yours but different materials.  Enjoy it.

Thanks for all the great comments and requests for the link. I'm going to be giving her a try out in about a week. I'm entertaining going to Home Depot to make me a set of outside poles for more space on the inside with the wife and youngun.
