NEW VPA 2 BLADE: First Impressions
«
on:

FYI: I will be testing samples of the new VPA 2 blade head in a week or so, sharpening, tuning, flight characteristics, etc. Nothing overly precise, just enough experimentation to give get a solid first impression. Stay tuned . . .

So this will be an unscientific "Ashby" field test that will give us REAL data that trad hunters can use? I sure will miss all that scientific mumbo-jumbo!

First samples were sent out today to get Teflon coated. Hope to get them back quickly. I like how they turned out from heat treat. I think we can also sell them to hardware stores as chisels after what I have seen from initial torture testing!

Any info available on the cutting width and grain weights offered? I love the 3 blade VPAs but I also like a good 2 blade with a big 1 1/2" or bigger cut.

If god had intended man to hunt with THREE blade heads, we would be finding three bladed knapped heads from our ancestors. :D
Can`t wait to see them!

Bonebuster: Funny you mentioned that. I have an arrowhead (bird point) someone gave me that's made of bronze and estimated made in the Corinthian Age. It's an EXACT miniture (half inch long) duplicate of a Wensel Woodsman. Three blade, vented blades and all. Undoubtedly one of my relatives made it. BW

Yep. They should be ready for this season. At least the broadheads should be, but not sure if the "official" packaging will be.
I think we are going to call them the X-Terminator.

The guy posting on this thread using Barry Wensel's name and picture is obviously an imposter. Barry Wensel no longer resides in "Keosauqua", in fact he spends his summers lounging on the northeast coast field testing fresh seafood at some place called "Barnacle Billys":^)

Patrick, the way I understand it Tradgangers are eligible for free shipping when placing an early order. Ray at VPA mentioned it and gave a code for Tradgangers to use when ordering. If Jeff reads this I'm sure he will post a clarification.
