Cade was amazing. He was spotting fish right off the bat and knew exactly what to do. No coaching required for him. He knew exactly what to do! A nice fish came into view and Cade took a shot. It was a close miss and I knew the fish were in trouble.  Of the first 5 shots Cade took he connected solidly on 3 of them. The arrow streaked off on the first two fish, but the weeds were just too tough. Then he made a perfect shot into the shoulders of a nice big carp and the rodeo was on. Tyler hopped off the shooting platform and gingerly worked the fish to the side of the boat. He got the fish close and then put a bear hug on it and handed it off to Cade. Cade was not letting that fish go. He had a death grip on the fish. Here he is with his first contact.

Curt and Cade make a great team. Here are a few more pictures of the happy father and son combo.

The fish was splashing them both at the same time in this one.

Here is my crew for the night. What a fun way to spend an evening with your family.

This is three of the successful bowfisherman.

This is my daughter Emily hoping for her fish to make it into the boat.  She did an amazing job for not having ever been before. She hit two very solidly with the arrow and line peeling out. Unfortunately, the weeds won. I was very proud of her.

Congratulations Cade!  Great shooting buddy. Can't wait to watch you make a shot on a big old nasty alligator!

Way to go Cade!!!
The old order is passing. Swiftly receding into memory are the days of strong, earnest men who followed an atavistic yearning to pit their skills against wild animals.

Congrats on a fine shot on a big ol' carp, dude!

I know you've arrowed pheasants, frogs, and now, carp with your trad bow. That's one heck of a resume', especially for a young man of your age.

I wonder what will be next for you to bag with the bow? There's no tellin'!
