How many hours of packing meat did you all have then?

Shedrock,

We packed them out with our llamas. It was a 12-hour round trip, six hours each way. 3,000 feet down to the truck, and 3,000 feet back up.

My wife and I killed the two bulls within three minutes of each other. While it was fun for the moment, and we were as excited as two bowhunters have ever been, we have promised that we will not DO THAT again. That was one heck of a pack out of there.

. . . Psst. . .don't tell my wife, but if she shoots a bull this year and another one comes prancing in to the party, I may not be able to resist. . .

A great many accomplishments! Thanks for the photos.

Gee's ferret, that's some impressive Elk . Guys I'm in Awe, next fall will be my 3rd time out in Co and hopefully 3rd time lucky, I just love being out their, but it would be nice to seal the deal in 2012 .

Congrats to each and every one of ya  :)
We are here for a good time , not a long time .

Like everyone here very impressive.Always good when shared with your wife.

Rik

Just for fun, I thought I would share this one with you. He's a typical Idaho Raghorn. We usually let little squeakers like this go, but my freezer was getting a bit empty that year and I needed the meat.

: ^ )

Rik just because your wife killed a better bull than you does not mean it's ok to Photoshop until you feel like a man again.    :bigsmyl:

Photoshop? Photoshop? Surely you jest!

I was just using Chuck Adam's camera. It makes everything look magically bigger than life.

Rik,

isn't that small bull the one you shot from front to rear, smashing bones in and out, and still the arrow had enough energy to stick a grouse that had the bad luck to walk behind the bull....boy was that grouse good eatin'....

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

This is too good not to bring back and I believe elk season is getting close for you guys. Good luck and please post pictures of your hunts.

Rik, I was in Idaho a few years back and had the same problem. had to let a few of those guys go by in order to get to the really nice ones. Outfitter warned us about it too!. lol
