I killed a doe last year in deer creek so I will  be there the 14th-16th I guess.  My friends missed last year so I am on my own this time.  I think I have a good area if I can get it again.  I would like to find two hunters to ride in my truck and hunt this area if anyone is interested lets talk.  It is hard to be a truck driver alone and I realy want to hunt this area again.

Does anyone have any tips on what type of tree stand(fixed/climber) to bring to Hominy? I haven't hunted there before and wonder which will work best overall for the trees there?

Bring both if you can. Carry the hang on the scouting day and get it up and then find a good tree for your climber and haul it in when you plan on hunting that tree. Worked for us in deer creek.  I think Hominy has more bottomland type habitat that would suit a climber, but I can use a chain on in almost any tree so I would choose it if I had to pick.

This will be my first time in hominy too. I'm there Nov.4-6. I've hunted deer creek and boggy the last two years and I couldnt believe I got drawn out for a third year. Didnt have much luck in deer creek but anybody going to boggy I can put you on a pretty good spot.

I too will be there Nov 4-6 Boggy, I have hunted Boggy and Hominy in the past. Any pointers on Boggy would be great.

Thinking for me that its time to put the modern camo away and start sporting something a little more buckskinnish (new word there)lol, maybe some leggins and wool or somthing of the sort.

I saw a few small bucks in Boggy along a fire brake. They crossed in the same spot daily. I can point it out if I had a pic.

My buddies and I got drawn for Deer Creek Oct 28-30. We have never been up there so any advice would be helpful. Is this all trail hunting and can you bait? I am looking forward to this hunt. I may even have to go to the 3D shoot now so I can make it to the velvet tour to see some of the deer.

Our group drew Deer Creek the last weekend in October.  This will be our first time to hunt there.  I've been to the Trad shoot there in August a few times and have taken the "Velvet Tour" so I know what possibilities exist.

I didn't get in the draw this year. (I drew a Wyo elk tag and didn't want any potential conflicts.)

For those interested, I've got a pdf file of the hunt area map.

Send me your email if you want it.

I will be hunting deer creek Oct. 28-30,  I have never been there, but I sure am excited.

If anyone could give me any clues as to where might be a good spot to try I would be grateful to you!
