Shrinking a shooting glove
«

Got my arrows finished today(thanks Big Jim and Onestringer)! Meanwhile I had worn a hole in my shooting glove. Bought a large just like the last one. Seemed a bunch tighter than initial pre break-in of the last one. Went back to store and got XL. Got glove wet and worn around the house for awhile. After shooting a few rounds I'm pretty sure I screwed up and should have stuck with large. Any ideas for shrinking this sucker up?

Get it thoroughly saturated and then lay it in the sun. It will shrink then wear it to form to your hand. Don't let it dry all the way in the sun but almoat dry the clothes dryer might work too. Every leather is different. Quality and thickness varies. The large will stretch to your hand once broke in.

You can shrink it by wetting and then drying, but it will stretch out again as soon as you shoot it a bit,or sweat into it. Always better to buy one that's real snug when new.

I've bought 4 or 5 gloves over the years. Sometimes my brain don't work. Maybe I will have a mid-life growth spurt.

I think your just going to have to drop the bucks and buy a new one. Leather is not quite like wool. Usally they us chrome tans for gloves and the really dont take in water well any way. May be you can sell it. If it was veg tan you could shrink it.

I'm with Scott. Sell it or try out some kind of trade in the classifieds.
