Set up for 17" Morrison ILF?
« on: July 09, 2011, 05:58:00 PM »
I have a couple new to me Morrison risers to play around with and wanting to shortcut the learning curve some. They're both 17", phenolic/wood, I'll be shooting long limbs (so 62" bow length overall), split finger tiller.

Questions I have on what's worked for other folks-
Brace height?
Nock height?

When using the Trad Tech limbs with the Morrison risers, is the general weight about 10# more than using the Titan riser? Unsure on this point, but I think that it's something I've read before.

Thanks for your time and assistance.

David

Hi Dave  :wavey:

I have the exact same setup. Black Max limbs, 17" ILF riser.

The limbs are marked correctly for a 17" riser, so no worries there...

Brace height, somewhere around 7 to 7-½"
Nock height, around 3/8 to 1/2" high has always worked for me.

Congrats on getting yourself one of the fastest, smoothest shooting bows on the Planet!

Thanks Rob, that's going to help a lot. Is that one the camo bowfishing rig I drew back at PBS?

Nice rig, who dipped it for you? I think I remember it being camo.

larry directed me to a section of Bob's website that I'd overlooked previously on what he recommended on setup.

Thanks again everyone.
