Ways to make Primos chair taller
« on: July 11, 2011, 02:20:00 PM »
I have a bad knee and any low chair bothers my knee rather quickly.

I currently use the HS tripod chair. I like it because it's about 19" tall, to the front tri-pod, the one between your legs.

The only drawback is, the seat and back are smaller than the Primos Magnum.

However, the Primos Mag is only 17" high, since it's mainly designed for tent blinds. I'm not using a tent, so window height isn't a concern.

I was thinking of adding some 2-4" onto the bottoms of the legs of Primos chair to make it better for my knee.

I don't think a couple 3 inches added to the bottom, once in the dirt, will make it tippy.

My question is, who has a good idea of what I could use to do that? Should I use big round 3" long wood "pegs" and a single long screw with some gorilla glue?

Some form of solid plastic?

I used small piece of 2x4. Got me up 1.5". A single screw has worked for me.

Primos Double bull mag chair is my got to chair for hunting, permanent natural blinds or pop ups too. I would try get some plastic stock, cut the same size as the bottom of the feet, 2-3"longn and then epoxy them on,with a couple of screws through the existing feet into the elevators you are adding. Did something similar for a buddy of mine who is tall and lanky. The huntmore stools I have tried are a little more adjustable, but actually no more comfortable for me thatn the double bull, and I have a bad back. Just my 2 cents worth.

I'm going to stick with a simple tripod chair, and I like the size of the Primos. Please no suggestions for other chairs in this thread.

Would a boat cushion help?
