« on: June 29, 2007, 05:05:00 PM »
I picked up a new Gadget Adapter, from Mike Horton last weekend, and finally got it put on my new Bingham longbow!! I got the one to handle my AMS retriever reel...Now, if it'd just quit rainin here in MidMo, I'd go kill some fish, with me new bow!!! Here's some pics...

I just strapped one to my new (to me) dedicated fish bow.  It worked great on the 20 or so fish I've shot in the last two days.  One question...why do you have it mounted so far forward on that bracket?  I find it works best to have it situated where I can hold the bow by the grip and use two fingers to reach out and engage the lever for reeling in.  I mounted my retriever directly to the bracket .

JUst a hint...bowfishing is FUN, but hard on bows.  Be careful with your new baby.  Also, where in Mid Mo?  I'm originally from Marthasville...about 65 mies west of St. Louis on the Missouri River.

My first 2 fingers land right on the AMS trigger, at that distance, with that bracket! Plus, when I'm movin from one spot to the next, I can use that quick detach bracket, put the bloody arrah and reel in the back of the truck, and put my baby in da backseat, where she belongs!!!

I live in Marshall...I would guess AT LEAST 3 hrs upstream...heck, it's durn near 3 hours by I-70/65hiway standards!!!

over&under, Yes, it feels secure and stable, but with all the rain we've been having here, I haven't shot this setup just yet....hope to change that tomorrow!!!

You have bigger hands than me, then!  Good idea with the quick release.  Especially if it helps keep your bow nice.  I was out all night on a lake near here...shot 38 carp and quillback.  Came home tired but happy!

I've been through Marshall quite a bit.  I've got friends out that way.  Good luck!
