Palm Tab?
«

Anybody ever use a palm tab like BW sells? It's got a wrist lanyard instead of a finger loop.
If you've used one, what do you think about them?

That looks like a problem waiting to happen to me.
I use a bateman tab with a finger hole in the leather (not the elastic band)
I can rotate it around to the back of my hand if I need full use of my hand for something.
But the tab is always "right there" when needed.
And can flipped around easily and quickly without using my other hand.

Cololongbow--I have one and I love it. once you set the lanyard length it falls right in to the correct place every time. Stays out of your way when you don't need it,but with a flip of your wrist it falls right in to place.--Bone

They are no problem at all, and easy to hunt with while wearing a glove. If you attach the finger seperator, drill a small pilot hole first or the screw may spit the plastic. I like them.

Curious..
Maybe they're not as bad as I thought they might be...
If you're not using the spacer, does the tab fall out of your hand after shooting?
Just seems like it wouldn't stay put.
Maybe it does...

That is all I use. A few years ago they were really hard to find, or at least good ones. I made a few patterns and make my own now. If you want any ideas on making them let me know.

Thanks for the info guys!
They do look interesting. Sometimes the leather finger ring on the tabs I use are irritating, especially with gloves.
Thanks for the tutorial FerretWYO. I'll probably pick one up from BW as they're only $11. If I like it I'll make a couple like yours.

Send Me Your address and I'll mail You one. It's not a Black Widow but it's basicly the same design.
I think this one is made by Neet. It's a 3 under tab

I have been using the palm tab from BW since 1990. I shoot three under and just remove the spacer and chuck it.
The thing I really like about the tab is that it's always there when I need it and never in the way to use both hands. I have tried a bunch of tabs and gloves over the years and always go right back to the palm tab. They wear like iron and give a super smooth release. Try one, I can't imagine that more people haven't. Glen

When I pull through my release the tab drops out of the way but the laynard keeps it on your wrist. It does work pretty sweet.

I only use tabs and that one is easy to use. It does not get in your way until gutting time iS upon you. Then it must be removed to protect it

GMASIUK or anyone else shooting 3 under: I will take those spacers if you are just throwing them away.

I just went to Tabs this summer and this one sounds good so I just ordered one from Black Widow. If I like it I'll make-up some.
FerretWYO Thanks for the How-To!
I shoot 3 under, so Buckracks7 PM your address and I'll send you the spacer.
