« on: June 29, 2007, 10:40:00 PM »
DO ANY OF YOU NAME YOUR BOWS OR BOW. I GOT MY SCHAFER SILVERTIP ON THE 10-TH OF APRIL TWO DAYS AFTER EASTER. I THINK IT WOULD BE COOL TO GIVE THE BOW A BIBLICAL NAME . I WAS THINKING "THE RESURRECTION",WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ? GIVE ME SOME IDEAS IF YOU WOULD.

THE BOW IS A SILVERTIP TAKE DOWN RECURVE 58" LONG. IT HAS A ROSEWOOD RISER WITH CLEAR GLASS. A CHECKERED GRIP, FAST FLITE SNAKESKIN LIMBS, ANTLER KNOBS AND ANTLER OVERLAYS.50LBS@27"
A SECOND SET OF LIMBS SNKESKIN,SHEEP HORN OVERLAYS,61LBS@27"

DAVE AND BETH ARE THE BEST, GREAT PEAPLE, VERY HELPFUL AND FREINDLY. THANKS DAVE AND BETH YOUR THE BEST WHAT A PIECE OF ART YOU MADE ME DAVE.

I AM TRYING TO GET SOME PICTURES POSTED. BIG RON HUNT ALOT IS TRYING TO HELP ME FIGURE OUT HOW TO POST PICS ON TRAD-GANG. I JUST CANT SEEM TO BE ABLE TO GET IT DOWN YET, POSTING PICS THAT IS. SHOULD HAVE SOME IN THE NEAR FUTURE

As for Biblical names for bows, although I never named mine:

"Providence" would be my choice...

Terrific looking bow there, Bruce! I'd say I've got about 9 months and 1 week to go before my Silvertip arrives! I'm looking forward to it!

Congratulations Michael; Yu just purchased the best recurve  available today! I own a bunch of them ... don't want my wife to have a number! LOL. It is by far the most accurate shooting recurve that i have ever shot and I shoot mine out to 60 yds routinely. Have fun wuth it and put some " toe nails in the air" !

Man, that's a nice bow!  Silvertips are about the only high-end recurves that I've never shot; I've never even seen one in person.  Like to try one someday.  As for the name, why not "The Fourth Horseman?"  (you know, death?)

Really nice bow! I'm sure a lot of people will want to handle that bow at the upcoming shoot.

I shot a Silvertip before I knew what a Shaffer bow was.  Stopped in to see a friend last fall at his shop and we started shooting his bows,  I picked up his a Great Plains LB.  He then handed me his recurve to try out.  That was the most impressive feeling bow I had ever tried.  Not that I've shoot any high end bows but it was obvious this was a cut above what I was used to.  Many times over the winter I kept thinking about how nice that bow felt in my hands.  Went back a couple of months ago to see for my self just what that special piece of work was.  Great bows for sure.
