A poem I found by Ed Pitchkites
« on: July 17, 2011, 10:22:00 PM »
I found this poem while unpacking some boxes. I got this a few years ago when i sent  Ed a Christmas card , he also sent a book and a dream catcher. What a great guy .

                                        THE  BOW
Here I am a Simple Tool. A bent piece of wood and a piece of string. I am called a bow and have been here for many years. It seems that I have come to my end.

You have chosen me for your use,but you have not accepted your obligations that go with me. It takes skill, strength, and patience to do my job well. But,it is YOUR skill, strength, and patience.

Some men have accepted these obligations and have done well and made me famous and respected. But now you have changed me. I am losing respect from my later cousin, the gun. I have even lost my identity. I dont even look like my former image.

You depend on me only. You want me to do all the work. You want me to think for you. When you fail, i fail. Then you blame me. I am not human. I am just a simple bent stick with a piece of string.

Please dont destroy me or my former image.
ED PRITCHKITES

I think you have to read it and think about it to get it. But it does wrap it all up for me - its just a simple tool.   :campfire:

The bow is like any other tool, you have to put in the time and practice in order to use it well.

I write Ed often! We correspond quite frequently and he is a real gem! He sent me some dandy dream catchers, books. He really has ALOT of stories and really enjoy hearing stories and poems from him! Anyone that knows him will say the same! Thanks for posting the poem, never heard that one before.

How cool is this?....Way!!! I'm saying...

I am glad to see that things may be making a turn around for "Mr.Bow".

The more I see and read here on Tradgang the more hope I have.

Simple is the hardest for me but also the most rewarding, even when I miss.

God bless,Mudd

Archery isn't something I do, it's who I am!
The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.
