Walmart arrows???
« on: July 17, 2011, 10:37:00 PM »
Not to long ago I read something about the 29 and 31 inch arrows you can get at walmart about spine and who makes them.  Anyone have that thread?  I did a search but couldn't find it.

Jim,
I'm pretty sure there made by Carbon Express. Not sure on the spine. Hope this helps.

Yup, they are carbon express.  They are thunderstorms, rebel 4560 (Wolverine 5060) and rebel 6075 if I remember correctly.

It's complicated.

In addition to the named arrows w/ spine deflection specs which sell individually, Wal-Mart gets in boxes of un-named arrows (the box indicates Carbon Express) which have no markings (save for a sticker w/ a bar code) and come in two lengths, 29" and 31". This year the boxes are divided into 4 sections and one can also get camo arrows for $4 (plain are $3) and they've marked the boxes and stickers w/ a range of draw weights (inconsistently --- box says one thing, sticker another).

I bought half-a-dozen each last year and shot the 31" arrows until recently replacing them w/ Carbon Express Heritage 150s. The unmarked arrows were okay and I enjoyed shooting them, but when I made a spine tester of Lego bricks I found they had several different deflections, which explained why I was only grouping so well --- I'm doing much better w/ the CX Heritage 150s.

Carbon Express also has aluminum 2117 at wally world. I got 3 of them. They are black in color w/vanes. I did one thread on the arrows.

I couldn't disagree more. Those CX Rebel 6075's are REALLY good shafts. I stump and stump and stump with them, and have yet to break one. The weight seems decent, and they seem very consistent. Bigger cost doesn't necessarily equate to higher quality. Just sayin.

I've shot Wally's CE carbon and Al arrows with no complaints.  They are definitely uniform and consistent for weight, spine, and straightness. Not the BEST arrows I own, but not bad at all and excellent for the price.

I shoot the Carbon Express from Walmart and agree with Spectre. I don't know about the unmarked ones, but I assume the Carbon Express are the same as you get anywhere else.

I buy most of them late season when they drop the prices to a couple bucks each. They fly great from all my bows, and I haven't broken one yet.

I picked a few up yesterday that are marked 45-70, 29", Carbon Exacta by Allen. Any idea what these are? It looks like you can use Gold Tip components in them. For three bucks an arrow thought I would try them out just gotta get some points and weights for them.

Funny, I got the 4560 carbon express from Walmart for stumping. Even footed with 2" of aluminum they fly the same as my Easton Raider carbons (Dicks Sporting Goods Exclusive)do out of my Shrew. I replace the crappy vanes with parabolic fletch and they are good to go.
I like to clean out the left overs after the season is over sometimes for a buck apeice as mentioned above. Can't beat that for a stump arrow.

I put six of the CE 4560’s on my scales and they ran within 4-5 gr of each other. Fitted them with 125gr field points and got respectable groups at 20-30 yards. I don’t know if I’d hunt with them, but at $2.75 each plus tips, they make pretty good practice shafts.

Yea, leave my arrows alone lol.  I used the same one on three deer last year.  With 200-250 up front, they shoot well on almost all my bows.
