I have been reading this site for some time now and thought it was high time I joined. So I did the needful and was promptly ticked off by e-mail saying that I had already registered last September. Getting old I guess because I don't recall registering. Sorry Rob!
I used to shoot a rudimentary bamboo bow with reed arrows as a kid but then guns came along and the bow was forgotten.
Fast forward three odd decades and I got the itch to shoot a bow again, so I ordered a 40# Martin Jaguar. A year later I sold that and got myself a 40# Samick Sage from 3 Rivers but barely had it for a few days when a friend came over and said he wanted it. The Sage was replaced with a 50# Bear Montana and it's a very nice bow, especially after replacing the string with one from SBD.
I am currently awaiting a 60# T/D Bama Hunter from Nate and am really looking forward to it.
Barring FITA style archery, archery is a dead sport in India and everything needs to be imported. The only exception to this are some of the tribal areas where the bow is still used for hunting and I am very keen on collecting these bows and arrows for my collection.
