Do you use face Paint?
« on: July 21, 2011, 10:11:00 AM »
I picked up some Bear/Jennings face makeup and it has a definite odor to it. Glade green and Bark brown colors- it says easy to apply easy to remove cold cream base. but it smells! not terrible or strong or anything but I know the deer will sniff this stuff out!   What are you all using?

I don't like greasy stuff on my face..especially when it's hot weather. If I use face paint I use smut from a cork.

I tried it one time, didn't like it. That was the last time.

I've been using the carbon type from 3 rivers.  I can't even tell I've got it on.  It comes off with a damp rag, too.  It doesn't do so well on my hands, though.  I'm always sticking my hands in my pockets and it wears off quickly.  It doesn't go on as thick as the greasy tube-type, and my wife says I look like a grungy old hobo when I wear it, but it does the job.

I have used the carbon stuff.  It comes off easy with water.  This year I plan to hunt without any.  No commercial camo, and no face paint.  We will see how goes.

Nope don't use it just grow out my "facial flage" each year!  Do wear a thin bacalava when it is cool outside, but kinda uncomfortable in hot weather.

I use the hunter specialties. Comes in 4 colors green brown black and grey. American made easy on easy off. I tried the carbon black from 3 rivers didnt like it couldn't get it to cover my face. Was real thin. Came off easy enough tho.

I use the HS stuff in the tubes but I only wear it when I'm hunting from the ground- when I'm monkeying around in the trees I have a half face mask I keep on

No.  Probably should but it's just one more thing to hassel with like scentlok suits etc.

CarboMask works good. I use it in the summer as well to get close when filming and scouting deer. Mike

I shot over a really nice deer at 10 yards a few years back due to not being able to feel my anchor on my face through a facemask. Never again I'm a painter.

I can't wait for someone to try one of these and let us all know.
