Forgot something, I also made a homemade pocket quiver. Put arrows in it without tips. I have broadheads and judos in a little box in my pocket. When I come across something I want to stalk I make a decision on what tip I need and put it on and continue with one arrow ready. Oh yeah, continue with one arrow ready, like a cat. Smiley face goes here.

So which one is it?????  Dying to know what the perfect, best, right quiver is???  :D    :knothead:

I hate quivers, all of them, i wish i could stalk to an animal and then reach into the air and pull out an arrow but i wish for a lot of things that cant happen so i am always looking for the quiver that i dislike the least. I think i have found it but time will tell.
Just wanted to add to this. I love my quiver that i hate the least. I have had many quivers over the years form sponsers here on the gang and all have been top knotch in quality, workmenship and costumer service but dang i just wish i didnt have to use one....just reach up into the sky and grab an arrow when needed, now that would be one sweet quiver.  :biglaugh:

I seem to have my fair share of quivers hanging around but none that go on the bow.

I like the love/hate analogy..seems to be where I'm at with them.

I have the disease as well. I have often said that the weakest link in Trad is the quiver. I have a few ideas for what would be a "perfect" or at least a better quiver; but there is none out there as of now. so the search continues.

One of these days I am going to try to build a quiver that is like what I am wanting.

Wtpops, I like that statement that you made,

"just reach up into the sky and grab an arrow when needed, now that would be one sweet quiver."

When we started developing our line of quivers that was our goal, not to make another large bulky quiver, but rather to make a quiver for the guys who want nothing on their bow to change how it feels in hand, or how it shoots. You can hardly tell there is any additional weight on the bow and we guarantee they won't change how your bow shoots...,except maybe it shoots quieter, or your bow seems a little more stable. Also, pulling an arrow from a bow quiver is as close as you will get to  "just reach up into the sky and grab an arrow when needed,"

Over the years I've tried various kinds of quivers, but for ME, the bow quiver is best.  I have a BW MAII with the inserts on the side of the riser.  I get a great tight fit, and plenty of arrows which are out of the way but ready for instant use.

I hear people whining about the "weight" of bow quivers, but a quiver with 4-6 arrows is not that noticeable to me.  When a big old buck comes into view, a few extra ounces makes no impression on me at all.   Even at age 70, a big buck still gives me a thrill unmatched by most anything else in the woods.

When you hike back in several miles, hunt several more miles up in the mountains, etc. it is nice to reduce the weight a bit. It's not so much how the bow shoots with a quiver on.

Yup...... totally agree.

For sake of the discussion----lets assume you are taking a half dozen arrows into the woods.  No matter what quiver you use, the arrows still weigh the same.  The variable would be the quiver itself.  If the object is to reduce the weight on a hike, what kind of quiver would be lighter than a side mounted bowquiver for example?

I like the bowquiver because it is convenient to me, easier to navigate through thickets, and if you have your bow in hand, you have your arrows too.  As for weight, whether shooting or hiking, it adds almost nothing IMHO.

However, my way is not the only way or best way for everyone.  But for a strictly utilitarian kind of quiver---I like the side mounted bow quiver.

In my opinion, quivers, be they back, side or bow quivers, are all just necessary evils if you want to shoot a bow. They all have flaws.

Thought I'd bring this back around again as I'm going through the "Quivers" one more time!      :knothead:
