Gradually, some of them wake-up, and one of the more sociable ones comes to inspect the strange creatures staring-in at them...

That is very cool what a great find out hunting.
Glad you put them back unharmed.I know some over there consider them pests.
Cute little suckers aren't they?

I'm just surprised that you could pick 'em up! Over here, a 'Yote pup that age wouldn't want you near it, much less picking it up.

Those would mate a fine pet mate. My Grandfather had a Dingo pup as a pet years ago and he still tells me it was one of his best dogs...

Thanks, fellows. Yep, it was worth the early morning and the long miles, just seeing them.

Dogboy900, we do consider them a pest. One of my student's has lost twenty calves this year already. But, they were too cute, and deserve a chance to grow-up into calf-killing machines for us to dislike. Sportsmanship, eh.

Steve, they're dingo or wild dog pups, depending on which scientist you're listening to. Some say there are no more pure dingos on the mainland, others disagree.

Al, I was sorely tempted.

Awesome Ben. I reckon that little fella would have found his way into my backpack for a ride home.

Very cool!  I've only seen one adult, up in the NT, which was pretty neat.  Don't think I could ever kill a pup.  Good on ya for just taking pics!

As much as I don't like them killing cattle, I admit the bush would be poorer without them. But I think that way in regard to all our feral animals (except cane toads and cats).
