Heads up

Got this off of the Utah DWR's website.

"Right now is a great time to start practicing for the August opener. "If and when a big game animal presents itself," Root says, "you want to make sure you make an accurate shot."

Start practicing...

And yet, ridiculous as it sounds, somewhere out there, someone is dusting off their poor, lonely old bow that's been sitting in a corner all year, wistfully wishing it could fling a few arrows every once in a while, instead of just before the opener.

Brings a tear to me eye, it does.

I'd be laughing too, except they probably really mean it  :archer2:
TGMM-Family of the Bow

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow’s effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

I'm still waiting for that Texas whitetail to "present itself" to me. I should have enough time to start practicing after that happens. In the mean time, I think I'll go have another   :coffee:

There's more too...

"With unlimited archery elk permits available," says Scott Root, "you should consider introducing yourself to archery hunting this fall."

General archery elk starts Aug. 20th as well.

Have to admit...it doesn't take long to get good with a wheelie or the bowguns that are getting more commonly legal.
