Rob,

I don't think there is any electric at the sites, but there might be at the shelter house just above where everybody has camped in the past...

I'm sure somebody will be over there poking around at some point before the hunt... I know I'd like to get over and walk some of the ground...  we had several guys from church camp over there this past winter and went for a walk the next morning... interesting country... hilly... I'll be looking for some saddles and whatnot, I hate to go in blind...

No electric.  There is generally someone at the camp all the time though.  I bet some remedial training and it'll work out.  I do like smoked stuff.  Smoked turkey, smoked salmon, smoked cigars  :)   Rumor has it that one of the attendees works in a high-end smoke shop in Pittsburgh.  Has somethin' to do with selling private label cigars too I think.  Maybe he'll bring something to smoke.

By golly there he is, smokin' in my popup after a good day's hunt - hehehe

Boy that was good breakfast that morning.

Tecum-tha I'll send you a PM with my phone #. I live just about 30 minutes from Booneville and depending if we can get it worked out to go and come home at the same time you could ride up with me and we could split the gas.

That guy from the smoke shop can chase down a deer on foot from what I hear. LOL

I wanted to let everyone know I have extras of everything(tents, stands, blinds, chairs) just pm me and let me know what to bring. Might not make it til fri. morning though. If I get time I may have to make-up a fancy wood burned torges seat to give away.

John and the boys where extremely welcomeing and helpful to me last year on my first trip.

I might have a couple other places to show you all.  None of 'ems too top secret or hard to work out but I am happy to share what I can.  Keep in mind, this is public land and as such, the best laid plans usually go afoul.  Backups are nice.

What about taking a coyote or bobbykitten. Is that allowed. Here in OH we can't do much more than look at a bobbykitten.

What lic. will we need for those?

I don't think coyote starts til the 15th. Bobcats aren't allowed unless they changed something recently.

Nope on the bobcats, Would be nice if'n we could. I know where there is a few at.   :D  lot of fun to sit and watch.

Coyote is year round on private property with written permission but on state ground it's the 15th I believe.

What will be open is deer, turkey, and squirrel and I think rabbit on DNR properties.

I'm gonna throw an extra 3 man tent in the truck in case someone needs to use it Benha.

Like John said all are welcome. I rolled in last year and everyone helped me pitch camp and welcomed me in camp like they had known me forever.

If you just buy a deer tag, you won't be able to shoot squirrels or turkeys.  You have to buy a regular hunting license to kill squirrels and a turkey tag for turkeys.

This sounds way to tempting to pass up. Might have to show up there myself. Are there plenty of camp sites in your area? Thanks Jason

I'll miss your gathering again John. The NASP World Tournament in Orlando is that week and weekend.

My father-in-law lives about a mile away. I used to squirrel hunt behind the little house on the left right before you pass the gatehouse going to the campground. My F-in-L was the assistant manager for years and lived there. I visit the area 2-3 times per month.

Good luck.
