Yesterday I asked myself the wrong question... should I go to work or should I go hunting?      duh I got the wrong answer too. I went to work... heading out I glanced at the seat I had set up in the brush... the six pointer I overshot last week was watching me pass by, not ten yards from my seat.
Today I had no choice but go to work but today I took my gillie suit bag, bow and arrows with me. Mid morning I looked out the window and saw a flock of turkeys... I knew where they were headed. I ran out the door , threw the gillie on and I was ready... It was going to be "run and gun", there was no way they were not going to see me.

Turkey runs... I lead... shoot...    :banghead:  two inches over his head.
I remembered how all summer Ru and I practiced shooting at the decoy turkey head... not that I'm that good but the decoy lasts much longer that way. Now I wished I hadn't engrained that so well...
Three more Toms lined up behind the one I just missed... they were running up a short hill in perfect line... before I could think about it I ran to line up behind them    ... all I could see were their heads, all in a line... I knew I couldn't focus on their bodies but I remember telling myself to hold low... it didn't work... I helplessly watched my arrow fly towards the line of heads  :eek:three ducked and dodged as they were still watching me while running...
the fourth one came home with me     :goldtooth:
