Utah Deer and Elk Season
« on: July 30, 2011, 05:15:00 PM »
The Utah season starts soon and I have a state wide archery deer and elk tag.  Went scouting today and counted about 12 deer.  Unfortunate no elk.  I am optomistic for the season.  Anyone else in Utah excited about the season?

I'm in Oregon, but I'm excited about the season..in Utah! The Limited Entry bull elk tag in my pocket is making this year real exciting to me. Going to see new country, hunt with a great friend, meet new friends, and if I am blessed to kill a bull it will be really special. Working on putting together gear, strengthening the lungs and legs, shooting....the clock is ticking.

Other than seeing David out here, I gotta be honest, I am not too excited. OK mabey a little, I don't have a deer tag, and am only going to have a couple days to chase elk....BUT I do get to go to KS this year   :bigsmyl:    :goldtooth:

I won't get to hunt much this year, but I'm looking forward to the few days here and there I'll get to.

Our season for deer is a week off. My cow elk is a Dec hunt.  Yeah it starts my engine.

Yes I am looking forward to deer season. Maybe last year hunting with my son, thanks to new regs. But I enjoy it even if I don't get one, just being with the boy.

Bjorn,  I don't know if Craig talked with you yet this weekend but he is excited.  He went up Saturday early to Scout, then Latin the day we went for a quick ride and did some more scouting.  It will be a good year.   See you & Adam in 3 weeks.

Saw only 3 bucks this weekend, but last weekend saw 15. I am getting excited. I hope I can do it, it's my first deer hunt with a longbow.

Hey Rich! Yes Craig sent me txt messages with pics of the Moose and calf, as well as the two Elk Bulls! Great to hear from you. I am almost back in shape, and of course Adam is a pistol and ready to go anytime-you would not recognize the guy! Thanks Rich we are looking forward to a great camp!

I'm starting to get excited a little now. I have been so busy I just haven't put much thought into it until this last week. I did go scouting yesterday and I seen 40+ elk and about 50 deer. I made sure that all the deer were does, even the 30" buck I seen because I don't have a deer tag this year. I will probably only have 1 day a week off and evenings to hunt on the mountian but I'm planning on having lots of fun.

twitchtick, point me at the 30" doe.  I have a tag.  LOL.  I live in Layton so elk aren't walking through my front yard.
