Oklahoma Tradgang Member and Family Visits
« on: August 01, 2011, 03:01:00 PM »
I just came inside from shooting for a little over an hr with JimL(from Oklahoma)and a couple of his children.

I appreciate the patience of his wife Barb for allowing us the time to visit and do some shooting together while she sat in the swing with the grand

We must be touched in the head, the thermometer says it was 103 and no telling what the heat index was...lol

He and his family are on vacation on their way back from ETAR and went out of their way to stop by for a short visit.

I am truly a blessed man!

I agree Mudd the heat is making it hard to get out and shoot. I heard on the radio this morning that they are saying 108 for a temp tomorrow here in KC.

Very nice indeed. It is warm, I did some scouting yesterday and drank a full gallon of water in about 7 hours. Should truly have my head examined.

I did have a good time at Mudd's even though we liked to have had heatstroke.  I'm glad we shot before lunch.  I shot all of Mudd's bows with every kind of wood arrow there is. (I shot out of the bucket which is a tradition with Mudd I guess.)  He asked if he could shoot my Bamabows Expedition and I handed her over with the goldtips I got from Big Jim.  He proceeded to shoot up a storm.  His second group shooting at an orance thing hanging on a string bumped it  several times.  Then he tried to shoot one into a pop top.  (For you younger guys and gals, back in the good old days when you pulled a beverage to open it the ring came off in your hand and didn't stay on the can like now.  Then you dropped it into the can and drank it so as not to litter-if you didn't swallow it.  They made neat hat bands too.)  Wherever he got it he shot at it and bumped it three times but didn't actually ring it.  He asked if he could use one of my carbons and try to ring it with one of his Hill bows.(He only shoots wood)  Well the picture tells the story and he said he thought he would stop right there-yeah I guess so.  Did I ring one-there ain't no long brag here so add it up.  I had a good time and Mudd is a really good guy.  Mudd kind of examplifies the Tradgang spirit.  My wife said "and you have never met him before?"  Seems like I've known him all my life-I just never met him.

This is Mudd's second group shooting my expedition.

This is Mudd's group while trying to ring the tab with my expedition.(Notice three of the arrows are touching the ring.)  Kind of rude to outshoot a man with his own bow.lol

Last but not least, this is Mudd's ringer with my carbon and his Hill bow.

Thanks for the kind words Jim!

It was my pleasure and treat to have you your wonderful wife Barb and all the kids(grandkids too) to stop by for a cool visit.... yes... even as hot as it was, it was still way cool for me!

God bless,Mudd

PS: I believe your "Bama" is a bow that even a novice could shoot and score pretty darn well with it as it is a "shooter"!

Looks like fun if you can stand the heat....    ...I've been doin' my shootin' after midnight.  It realy isn't too bad at that time, lotsa stars too.

Those Bama Bows are some real shooters aren't they.  I've let Semo shoot mine a few times and he loves it.  I've gotta make sure it's in the vehicle when I leave his place..(just kidding, kinda)

Good to see you're feelin' all better now, and by the looks of your headgear you're ready for a safari.  Have fun, and try to stay cool.   :archer2:
