That is some mighty fine cresting work, Bud.

Snag, those chartreuse 4 fletch on white with the ebony stain are really sharp.

So many beautiful arrows.  Some really talented arrow smiths on this site.  I have been shooting wood arrows for many years, but just starting out building my own.  Now I really have some inspiration.
Thanks for all the great photos.

Bud, you've got some cresting skills.

Bud - your color scheme looks great and the cresting is elegant and very nicely done!

Just trying to imitate y'all's work

Thanks  :)

Those yellow/black/green ones I gave to my wife. The green/black/white I gave to my wife's co-worker. They both are teaching horseback archery at a local Girl Scout Camp. Hence the GS colors on the green/white ones. I added the black just to divided the green/white. The silver hides my wavy edge of the base colors. I can see where a top notch cresting machine would do well. The grommet on my Bohning cresting machine needs replacing.

Snag, I looked at your arrows at PBS.  Not only good looking, but very well made.  Had they been panel judged, yours would have been far ahead of the others in the 3 arrow competition.

We all like good looking arrows, but fancy looks don't make them shoot well.

True Rick, but "fancy arrows" that fly without flaw are pretty simple to build.  I was kinda hoping you would have entered a set.

Thanks Rick. Once again I do appreciate your opinion. I think the first think in making an arrow is that it will fly right. Then the rest is artist value.

Some Wapiti tapered Douglas Fir courtesy of Tim at Braveheart.  Made these up to match my JD Berry Morningstar.

James has a core Lam of Yew in this bow that I wish I could have taken the time to work into this scheme....but let's face it, ain't no way for me to match James artistry.     :D
