A couple more sets.   first set I made for my father in law to go with a bow I made for him.  I was really surprised at how well you could see them in flight! Second set is for me.

Might as well add mine. Sitka Spruce shafts (can't remember where I got them)  dyed with minwax dark walnut, spray paint crown and crested with testors paint on my lathe at low speed.

What happened to all of Treekillers post of all his beautiful arrows he's made over the years on this thread? He makes some of the best quality arrows out there and deserves to be on here too!

Like these!

Primitive Woodies for this fall. Fourteen 33" naturally tapered shoots of redosier dogwood and wild rose harvested from our woods in January, Spine reduced to 450, matched weight of 700 grains (shaft&head), stripped and burned wild turkey feathers from my gobbler 2 years ago, deer sinew from my 2013 8pt harvest, I made all the points from the same 8pt leg bone, port wine bottle glass, obsidian rock and attached them with my first batch of pine pitch glue and sinew, some wild fallen cherry and white birch bark wraps, some lightening groves, 3 practice points... now to make the freezer full!

Just finished these Surewood Shafts. Stained the crown area with ebony stain and the front end with walnut stain. Love the look of douglas fir when stained.

To the top! I can't get enough of this thread!
I received a dozen douglas fir shafts from Surewood yesterday. I plan on taking my time to see if I can make some arrows worth showing off. There are literally a million ideas in this thread that keep me working to figure out which way to go.
Is anyone else making any new batches of woodies to share photos of? Put 'em up!

I had 6 cedar arrow shafts left from a batch I bought in the 90s. I cut, tapered, stained, and sealed them last summer, but just got around to painting them up for this hunting season. I have them attached to the swap bow I received from Beach Bowhunter via my new Big Jim quiver. Not really fancy, but they turned out alright.

So, with a lot of inspiration from here and from arrows I bought from Snag last spring, I built up the courage to try to make a nice set of Douglas Firs from Surewood Shafts. Thanks for the help and experience!

Fletched with wild turkey cock feathers, harvested this past Saturday.
