Kenneth,
Wow they look like they came out of an old Treasure chest...Nicely done!Hope you don't mind me asking but to get that Old look do you soak the material in Tea bags?  My wife use to make up some old looking pics and sew scripture on the material and if I remembered correctly she used tea bags to stain the material to look old...I've been following some of your posts when you make these and you're doing a great job!

Thanks Keefer.. there are tons more on my website  www.CalumetTradegoods.com

If its not for sale its under sold items... for examples of what i can do..
I use many things to "age" stuff... Including AGING itself LOL...
Depends on the materials.. you can destroy some leathers and threads if you dont know what you are doing.. Tea is good for powder horns.. Coffee is good for many things,, black walnuts,,,
various iorn oxide mixtures and some other things I dont talk about because its a secret..  :saywhat:

heat can be a freind or enemy... and i always try to find LOD materials in antique shops thrift stores etc...
Thanks...

Ken you can have all the black walnuts or hulls you need if they make this year.I have one tree at my camp and it usually make plenty fruit but very nasty when you boil it with traps, stains everything. The fruit is very good to eat if you can get to it.Kip

I can always use walnuts  :)
Heres a bag I finished last night for a Tradganger in PA..
all bags are hand sewn and come with optional removable quiver.. forgive me if im "plugging" my bags here but I make museum reproductions for a living and I get excited when I can make trad bow goods because i can be creative and not have to follow certain guidelines and make a exact copy of something  :)

Here the detachable quiver I make that can come with one of my bags.. It can be moved high low. on side,, left or right.. anywhere you want it.. and my prices dont kill the bank for the quality of work you get..  I will say that anyone that wants to try one out I will send you a bag and quver no charge.. use it for a week if you dont like it send it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Like it just send me the money or Ill make you one to your specs... cant be easier than that  :) ...
My goal is to make more and more trad bow goods to post on my website and become a full sponsor here on Tradgang...  The strict living history world limits me on my "creativity" side LOL

Ken,
Now I like the looks of the plaid one with the quiver! Are most of them leather or do you do wool ones also without the quiver option ? You can't beat a deal like that to have one made and sent to ya to try...I need to save some penny's so I can get one...Hey Ken thanks for all those pics cause this to me is part of the traditional things we like to use...Men we need to carry these over the neck and under the shoulder and not the elbow...I'm affraid that even them squirrells might throw walnuts and acorns at us from above if we carry them like a lady would....  :D

If you look on my website on gallery and items sold you will see all sorts of bags etc...
the quiver is an option for and extra $50.
bags can be all leather, wool, linen, canvas,, most are a combo of various..
I would send one out and if the person keeps it they pay me within 2 weeks and I will donate part of the money to St Judes or another tradgang charity also..
SO< that gives you the bag for 2 weeks to try and another 2 weeks to pay for it... 30 days  :)
That shouls be enough time to sneek from the wifes cookie jar and not get caught..
OH, and full bag price with EVERYTHING
*Bag
*Knife and sheath included!!!!
*Quiver
*2 to 3 pocket options and materials

$250

Ken,
I just figured out how the men can get a Possible's bag from borrowing money from their wive's cookie jar!
Tell her you saw this Purse and wanted to surprise her with it and you got it for her..
She would in return think you were very thoughtful of thinking of her and think it looks very old...Then you men will say "well honey" you know I bet it would make a nice travel sack for taking my gear in the woods..
She will say "if you are man enougth to wear it then you can have it"!
I ain't the smartest apple in the basket but I think this is called reverse phycology or something like that?

Thats good thinking!!!!!  I have actually sold quite a few to women who just liked the rugged look.. sewd a holster in one for a women's 38 speacial who had a carry permit, LOL..
I just finished two for one of the producers of the history channel and have some im doing for
the parks service in Mass, close to Lexington and Concord..  I i should mention they are all double lined and heavily treated with beeswax..
they are made to abuse...and the beeswax is a natural sent for when hunting.. I generaly use mine on 3D shoots and stumping..

Just checked out your website again and all I can say is WOW! This is a cool website and you guys look like you just walked back in time...Your photos standing in a field with some mountain tops just look so realistic of that time period...Thanks and now we need to see you on a Pinto chasing Buffalos with the bow in hand at full draw with a stone arrow head Ken!  :D
