Elimitick Clothes
« on: August 06, 2011, 05:12:00 PM »
I was out shoppiing today and saw some clothes called Elimitick. They say they have been pretreated with tick repellent. Has anyone on this site ever field tested any Elimitick clothes. The area I hunt in Kentucky is full of seed ticks and the only thing I have used that actually works is the tick spray but the spray has a really strong odor.

So if these clothes actually work it might be worth a try . They run around a $ 100.00 for a shirt and pant  BUT  I can buy a lot of spray for that kind of money.

Any thoughts or insight is appreciated !!

Haven't tried them but would be a bit skeptical. Don't tell anyone this but the best tick prevention I have used is pantyhose. Just don't buy fish nets. I look better but ticks get through.  :D
This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

Clothes treated with permithrin are a lot cheaper. Chris

I have tried pantyhose also but don't like the fit. :)and they are too hot for early season.  The clothes say they can be washed 70 times and still be effective.   Neal

I think permithrin will go 10 or 12 washings and still be effective and any feed store has it. Chris

Permethrin works real well. If you are really paranoid they have some type of "military grade" permethrin that lasts even longer. I would think that anything treated would evetually lose its effectiveness and have to be refreshed.
