The Mohawk "Sparrowhawk"
« on: August 15, 2011, 07:35:00 AM »
Mohawk Longbows "Sparrowhawk" - 66", 50@28, 5 lams of dirty boo under clear glass, cocobolo riser and overlays, black phenolic pin stripes and tip overlays.  This new mild r/d 'hawk has a narrower & thicker limb cross section for an added measure of performance stability and a more classic longbow limb aesthetic.  An incredibly stable shooter that packs a punch, super smooth on the draw (as are all Mohawk longbows), dead in the hand on release, loves heavy 620 grain arrows, this is my most fave Mohawk longbow ... all the power and speed of a modern longbow, with classic longbow stability and looks.

the American Kestral (aka "Sparrowhawk", but actually a falcon, Falco sparverius) ...

Man! Rob I wish you lived close to me!!!

I would love to fling some arrows out of your "Sparrowhawk", it speaks to me.

Thanks for sharing!

If you get the chance I'd love to see a video of it doing it's thing.

"this is my most fave Mohawk longbow ... all the power and speed of a modern longbow, with classic longbow stability and looks."

That's a pretty strong endorsement, Rob.  I guess that I'd better try one.

Thank you for sharin' your new 'Hawk with us Rob!

Would you mind sharin' the numerical dimensions of narrower and deeper on the limb design for the Sparrowhawk vs the original Mohawk?

Inquiring minds would like to know and I might just have to order the new Sparrowhawk when Vince starts takin' orders again.

Shinken,

The new bow is roughly 1.125" at the fades compared to 1.300 on the standard bow....+ or -. The Classic on the Sponsor classifieds is with the new width and depth and a 4 lam bow. I will be opening up to limited orders any day now.

Thanks for the interest.
