A different kind of Robin Hood :)
« on: August 24, 2011, 10:09:00 PM »
I did a trade and got a new to me bow today. I did what I usually do and grabbed a bunch of arrows to shoot and see what the new bow liked.
Well I shot a few woodies and when I went to pull them, one of the tips came off in the target. I figured I'd try and get it out later. I then tried a Gold Tip Trad the only one spined close to the wood arrow. Well one arrow a slight metallic sound and I don't have to look for that woodies tip  :)

The Gold Tip is inside the glue on...

I've got a nice  collection of field points and broad heads in the hollow leg of my 3D deer target. i think amputation is going to be the only way to get em back though...

Schweet!

Better to be lucky than good eh?!!  Maybe you are just that good.  With my luck, I would ahve broken the carbon and still not have the woodie tip.  Good on you man!!

Ain't that sweet!  :)

Was shooting some 5/16 bbl tapered ash once at a shoot..heard that same "tink" sound...and when we pulled my arrow, I had imbedded someone else's pulled off 11/32 point on my shaft!  :)

That has to be one of those things that is so far from the norm, but if you shoot enough, funny things happen.

What a cool experience!  :)

That would be me. In fact, I did it twice in the same week. What are the oods of that?

Here is the first one. I was using Heavy Woodies, with Bodkin Points, out of my 100# Howard Hill.

Here is the second one two days later.

Did that with a woodsman into a field point.  They are still joined.

I wish I could say I did it on purpose but both shots were 1 1/2 low and slightly right. I'm
thinking about wearing that on around my neck Jim  :)
