I would love a 300 gr right bevel screw in. Sharp and ready to go out of the package would be a plus also.

Thanks for all of the feedback so far.  I'm in communication with Jeff to help answer some questions and give more specifics on what we'll be able to offer.  Really appreciate the help.

Now, I've got to get ready for a date with a herd of elk this Saturday morning  :)

What Terry said;
150 grain glue on same as Grizzly El Grandy but 1/4" wider. With a steel screw in addaptor of 100 or 125 grain it would weight 250 or 275 and your carbon arrow would weight approx @29" about 550 to 600 grains according to which carbon you are using! With most wood arrows it would be about 525 to 540 grains.
The trouble with screw on, it leaves your broadhead mounted different on each arrow?  Ken

Seems like the perfect time for the El Grande replacement.

Personally I would like a double bevel Abowyer Bonehead without the back of the blades sharpened. Or a thicker, heavier, Magnus I.....I like a wide cut with a sraight edge......glue on of course.

Hello, good idea, perhaps make it wiiiider, a least like an EL GRANDE, and that will be very interesting for the money vs what you can get on the market today where can get good SB but to "skiny" on the wide side ...

Still gathering information and working on this.  If we get a chance to have VPA machine a head for us, we'll only be able to afford one model initially.  At this point it's looking like we'll make it a glue on if we can, as long as possible and whatever weight over 150 grains it comes out at.  Thanks again for all of the replies.

As Snag said,
"I would go for a 150-160 gr glue-on right bevel 3:1 two blade head. That way if someone wanted to use an adaptor they could pump up the weight for carbons or aluminums. Just seems like you'd cover more needs. Whether those who shoot wood shafts or those who need a screw-in head."

Any updates on this? I have to agree a glue on in the 150-200 grain range would be they way to go.
I'd really like see it at least a 1 1/4" wide blade and close to 3" long.

I've been sitting on the fence on those for a long time now only because I've seen a few posts about failures. The ferrule doesn't go all the way to the tip like on the VPA's and they are not one solid piece like the VPA's . The VPA seems to be a much better designed head. If they don't come out with a glue on soon I'll be buying some Abowery's though.

Hey Mike, a glue on is what I'm looking to do and in the grain weight you listed.  At this point, it'll be a matter of how quickly Jeff at VPA will be able to work on it.  He is a really busy guy who works very hard for VPA, and he has a family, and he likes to hunt  :)

I don't anticipate having them this season, unfortunately, but I will make them available as soon as we can.  Thanks for your interest.

In the meantime, we do have a screw-in head available in 150 grain.  They are a two-piece head that has a ferrule that has interchangable blades from 100 and 125 grain heads as well.

Here's a pic of one of my staff shooters that just took the first trad deer with one in 125 grain weight.

I really like the design of the Penetrators.I could really use a 200 gr glue on,right bevel though I think if you were going to make them, right and left would be a good idea. The approximate width and length of the Grizzly El Grande is what I prefer.225 gr is a very useful weight for me but I can get by with that 200 grainer if the ferrule runs deep.I would be very happy with the tip design exactly as it is on the Penetrator.Great looking heads.

Do you know the dimensions you are looking at for this head?
TIA

The dimensions will be dictated a little bit by the weight we settle on and what stock we begin with.  Probably be 1 1/8 inches wide.  We'll explore wider, but that comes at a considerable higher cost.  Length will be as long as we can get with 200 grains on a glue on.
