Sheep hunt with pics part II
« on: August 31, 2011, 10:35:00 PM »
Well I had a whole story typed out and my computer locked up when uploading pics to photobucket and I lost it.  So here is the short version.  I went out for the last 5 days of season, hunted HARD, got into sheep regularly and got busted every which way.  Had to deal with lots of rain hail and lightning.  Put in lots of miles up and down. Had a great hunt, learned a lot, didn't kill a sheep but had a successful hunt.  Here you go, pics are worth a thousand words.

Mark, looks like what you experienced made for the great hunt.  That storm photo is dramatic!

What can I say?  I'm sorry you didn't get a sheep.  I'm grateful you could share this with us.  Thanks for the pics.  Maybe I'll draw a sheep tag and ask you to show my how to do it.

Spectacular!!  Not all successful hunts end with dead animal pictures, and this certainly was a successful hunt.  Thanks for sharing your trip to places most can only dream of.

Mark

That storm pic is one of the coolest pics I have ever seen....period!

Your hunt sounds like a sucess no doubt.  Talked to Steve a little tonight and sounds like you had all kinds of animals other than sheep in range  :)

Thanks for sharing with us, and will have to hear the stories first hand soon.

Take care

Awesome hunt. Thanks for taking us all along. I was visiting CO during your hunt time frame and found my eyes repeatedly drawn to the highest peaks where the Sheep and Goats call home. Someday I hope to personally take on the same pursuit.

Were you able to gather any info about that collared and tagged ewe?

Mark: It looks like you had a great hunt that most can only dream about   When those storms and lighting coming rolling in at over 13,000 ft in elevation it is pretty serious business.  I remember glassing an area up there and seeing a bunch of crows.  They were on several dead elk that were killed by lightning.  Jim

Beautiful country! I can't wait to get out there someday.

Beautiful! That one ewe brought her make-up case with her. Must be getting into that part of the year! She even has earings.

Great pics, thanks for sharing! I drew a Montana ewe tag this year. The season here starts on Monday. I hunted ewes in Colorado and never found any that would cooperate like that!
