I am currently shooting a 55# r/d LB . My target arrows have been xx75 500's w/125gr heads 30". I feel like this is on the light side for whitetails here in TX. I am not sure what the fps on my bow is so calculating KE is a prob. I need some arrow reccomendations I am planning on using 125gr snuffers. Thanks for the hlp. Thse shafts are 10.6 gpi.

There are better then I but at 443gr you should be allright. Try to get up to 550gr if you can. Ten grains per pound of bow weight.

Beman MFX 500's with a 100 grain brass insert would raise your weight to around 550 grains with a 125 grain broadhead.

Have you weighed them to see how heavy they are? I have some 2016 Legacy's at 29" with 125 gr. point and they weigh right around 490 grs. which should be plenty for whitetails. If you want a heavier arrow you might try some longer 2018 or MFX 500 with a 100 gr. insert, both of these will put you in the 525 gr. plus range.

I have no trepidations when it comes to shooting whitetail deer with a broadside lung shot, at 20 yards and under using a 421 grain arrow.
Its where the arrow hits the deer that counts. With a lung or double lung shot, it's meat in the freezer every time.

You can try to cut a little off the front if you have some extra length, and then compensate for the stiffer spine by adding point weight. That will a little bit of weight. Or go to a stiffer spine shaft and add more weight up front.

They will do the job on whitetails, but give a 2019 a try if you can find them. Good, heavy shaft, very durable, should be just about right for your bow weight.

What is your draw length? Is the bow 55@28 or 55@your draw? Not enough info to give an accurate assessment.

They will be fine! It's where you put the arrow that counts.

They are whitetails, I killed them with 42# bows and 8gpp. I hunt with 8-9 gpp. and shoot some big bodied deer in the Northeast. You have more than enough for any whitetail. Shawn
