You will find some great used bows in that price range.  Have you checked the classifieds or are you only interested in new bows?  Welcome to Tradgang!

Click on Forum Home, not main forums, and you will see the classifieds. You cant go wrong with a Quinn Stallion, have several my go to bows, shoot as hard , fast and smooth as bows costing $1000 and up. There is one in the classifieds for$225, with add ons, new ones are about$300 total including shipping. Pm me if I can be of any help at all.

I always recommend Bear Grizzley's from the 70s.  you can easilly get one on **** for ~100bucks.  Get one that states no twists, with lots of pics.  I promise you will not be dissapointed.

Look for the Older Bear Bows (kodiak & grizzly's). Nothing wrong with a bow even if it is 30+ years old as long as it is in decent shape.  Price range is usually around 125-250.

I seen one on the classified's around 175 if i remember right just recently.

Its already been said, but your best bet is finding an older Bear in good shape.

Left or right handed? I have an older Browning Wasp recurve, but it's a lefty and 50# + camo dipped....
