Idaho Elk
« on: September 03, 2011, 12:07:00 PM »

It was a short elk season for me this year. Shot this 5x5 opening day. It was hot and the elk were not talking yet so I decided to sit a water hole. He came in right before dark to about 12 yards and I made the easy shot. He ran about 15 yards after the shot and I cow called, he stopped and flipped over backwards tumbling about 5 yards from where I shot him. I love blood trailing but I didn't complain. I shot him with my Cascade Brush Hawk, cedar arrows from Elite Arrows and 145grain 2 blade Eclipse heads.

Hey Jesse!!   :wavey:        Short and sweet hunt but the freezer will start to fill.  Way to go!  Now you can concentrate your hunting on the other tasty animals.

Way to go Jesse! Great bull! Although there are no easy shots on elk, at least for me.
