Hey all can you help me identify this Shrew recurve. I checked the website, but couldn't tell as this is used an probably an older model. It just says LaClair Shrew on the limbs. 56" L137CR
Thanks,
Joshua

I PM'd Ron a day or two ago with the model number. I didn't expect him to be able to get to me this weekend.
I am just excited about this bow and couldn't wait to find out about it I guess.
I have never shot a short bow so forgiving. It also tuned to a variety of arrows easily.

That's definitely an older one. Late 90's at the youngest, maybe even pre 1996.

I would guess early 90's made by..... I wanna say... ah I better wait till somebody knows for sure. Outta the Carolinas I think.
Looks like a nice bow. I had the longbow version of that. enjoy it.

Thanks all! At some point in it's past it looks as if the upper tip was attacked by a housecat. Hopefully the cat caught a few mice with it's sharpened claws.
Needless to say it will need touched up at some point.

Gary Holmes made most of the original Shrews and Shrew recurves.
That does look like a nice bow, and among the longer ones of that design.

Hard to be certain by looking at the pics, but I believe I have the same model in a 54" 55@28. I did send pics to Ron a while back but never did hear back as to when made or model at the time. Would like to know, will be following this to see if info comes about.
Oh, this is the same bow I used back in January to take my first Green Wing Teal in flight.

Thats it Gregg, Gary Holmes. Thought so but could remember for sure.
Green wing teal in flight? I spen about $1000 in 10/12ga. ammo one season hoping to do that.I can't imagine how many arrows it would take.
Hats off to some good shooting.

I need to get a new string for this bow and an older Archery Traditions Bamboo Longhunter. Do I need to stay with Dacron or can I go FF on these older bows? When were bows built for FF?
Thanks,
Joshua
